Mama is down

Mama has been having fever on and off since last Thursday

First 2 days were quite serious as the fever was ard 39.5 degree

Then fever subsided on Saturday and came back on Sunday, along with stomache

Mama felt that she couldn't take care of Caleb alone on Monday as Papa had to return to work so she went back to Popo's house

Luckily Popo is always there to help Mama to take care of Caleb

But now, not sure if it is due to allergy reaction of the medicine or something else, Mama has developed some redness on her hands, arms and thighs

Hope Mama will recover soon otherwise it's quite difficult to take care bad-tempered Caleb when she isn't feeling well

And Mama really really really hope to go out very soon
She really needs to breathe in some fresh air
She really needs some leisure time to feel sane again

OMG! It really happened!

Someone was asking me over msn yesterday
"So did you find your tears rolling down your cheeks uncontrollably when you see your baby sleeping?"
I replied him
"Siao ah! You think it's commerical ad or Channel 8 drama ah?!"
Who knows
It really happened! 5 min ago
Caleb cried and I went over to hold him up and pat him to sleep again
His face was resting on my chest
And I looked at him
Suddenly, I realised this is my baby(hmm...I am abit slow right?) and I started to think about the life he is going to have ahead of him. The people he is going to meet. The places he is going to visit. The decisions he is going to make.
Tears welled up in my eyes
And before I knew it, my cheeks were wet
I know it sounds v drama but it's really true
I hope Caleb will be a happy and healthy person

I am an infant now!!!

Yeah!!!
I turned 1 month old yesterday!
So now, I am officially called an infant! No longer a newborn le!
Hee Hee
As an infant, I must do something to impress Mama mah else she will still think that I am a small baby..Hmpf!
So I decided to do some gymnastic in my cot
After my afternoon feed, I appeared to be sleepy so that Mama will place me in my cot and have her own lunch

This is how Mama place me in my cot
Once I sensed Mama left the room, I started to kick the side of my cot with my SUPER-MODEL long legs and use my POWERFUL core muscles to rotate myself

This is my ending position
Then I purposely made a sound so that Mama will rush into the room
And as I expected, she had the shock of her life to see me lying in that position
Stupid Mama
MUAHAHAHA!!!

我出关了!

我出关了!
Finally!!!
My confinement ended yesterday!!!
This is the first time I greatly appreciate that my mama is a traditional woman
Luckily she goes by the Chinese Calendar to determine my confinement period
Caleb was born on 8th Apr (Chinese Calendar)
Then yesterday was 8th May and so it was the last day of my TERRIBLE confinement!

Woah...
HOT, SMELLY and FRUSTRATING are the three words that I will pick to describe the past month....
I am having some giving-birth-phobia now...I don't think I would want to give birth anymore...
Nah Nah..Not because of the labour pain...Labour was ok..All thanks to Epidural (I HEART Epidural!)
But confinement was *shake head shake head* something I don't want to go through again!!!
My best advice for you all would be
Next time pick a better date to get conceived so that you will deliver during Nov-Feb period when the weather is cooler
Mid-year period is simply crazy!!!

I must thank my mama...
For cooking my confinement food ( though I only eat fish for Lunch and bigger slice of fish for Dinner...bcuz I don't like to eat meat...she has no choice but to cook FISH for every meal...)
For tahan-ing my terrible tempers (I have been throwing tempers at her whenever little Caleb throws temper at me...Poor mama)
For loving and taking care of little Caleb when I get so stressful (There are times when I get so frustrated with little Caleb that I just handed him over to my mama...So guilty)

Mother is a lifelong job that you have to work 24 hours everyday and don't get to retire unless you die...
Your kids are your boss and not all bosses will appreicate their "employees" (mother).
But you will still do your best...
Just like my mama...
She still has to take care of her married and bad-tempered daughter who is already 27 years old.

Anyway, I am back at Woodlands now
Finally, I am connected back to the world with Internet access
Woo Hoo!!!

HELP!!!

Mama is stressed
Mama is upset
Mama is unhappy
Little Caleb always fall asleep during breastfeeding at night
Then Mama has to breastfeed him for every 15-20 min over a few hours
It's exhausting
It's stressful
It's driving Mama crazy
Yet Mama can say nothing because she is supposed to be a matured and sensible mother

Hello! Planet Earth (Beware: Long Long Long Entry)

Hello Everyone!

After Mama has rotted at home for 2 weeks, I have finally decided not to waste her maternity leave and decided to arrive on 2nd May 2009, 15:12 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital

Mama started her contractions on 1st May 2009 around 11+ p.m.
At first, she thought it was Braxton Hicks since those contractions were painless
Then at 12+ a.m, the contractions started to get regular. Once every 15 min.
Then she told Papa that I might be coming out soon.
At around 1+ a.m, Mama saw red patch on her panty when she went washroom.
She knew that it's time to go to the hospital le.

After showering and some little packing, we arrived at Mount Elizabeth at around 3a.m.
Nurse at the delivery suite checked on Mama. Mama was dilated at 1cm.
Then as every hour passed, contractions were getting more and more painful.
Finally, at around 6:30a.m, Mama could not take it anymore and asked for epidural.
But poor Mama still have to withstand 1 hour of contraction pain as the doctor only arrived to give her epidural at 7:30a.m. =(
But But But
Mama was all smiles again 15 min after epidural was given to her. She could even enjoy the cable TV at the delivery suite =D

Doctor Kowa arrived and checked out Mama at around 8a.m.
He told Mama that dilation was only 2cm and it takes 10cm for normal delivery labour
He estimated the earliest time for labour would be around 4-5p.m.
And so, Papa and Mama continued to "enjoy" the TV shows.

At around 10:30a.m, nurse checked on Mama's dilation again.
OMG! It was still 2cm!
Nurse said I was too high up, refusing to move down.
Nurse also told Mama that I might come out at night-time as the dilation was slow.
And if the dilation still doesn't reach 10cm at night-time, Mama might have to do C-section cause long labour is not good for the baby.
Papa and Mama fret out as the cost of C-section is double of normal delivery.
So they started to talk to me. Hee Hee..
Papa said he would get me a pair of shoes and Mama promised to get me a Fisher-Price seat.
Ho Ho Ho... So, I started to do some work by moving down.
Then at 1p.m, Doctor Kowa checked Mama's dilation again. It was 5cm!
Papa and Mama was thrilled!
Mama's dilation finally reached 10cm at around 2:30p.m. and real labour started at 3p.m.
Mama spent around 15min pushing me out. Dr Kowa and nurse praised Mama for being a good pusher. Hee Hee

Ok la...Enough of the long long story...
Let's enjoy my pictures...
Ho Ho Ho

Zzz-ing...

I just had a sour plum...No la...Duno why I like to make this facial expression...

Po Po said Mama used to make this expression too when she was a baby...

My charming smile =D
